# BYO iPad Mini Trial (only for Year 4 in 2016)

As a trial in 2016, students who already own an iPad Mini may use it in place of the above device. This device may be carried through to Year 6.

Parents should be aware that the full size iPad has been specified because it has some advantages over the Mini:

  • Larger screen is easier on the student's eyes
  • Battery life is longer
  • Keyboard is larger making typing easier
  • Larger screen makes editing of text and other creative work easier
  • Faster processor for devices of the same age
