St Columba’s Catholic Primary School South Perth is a part of Catholic Education WA located in the Perth Diocese. We are a school that owes its heritage and traditions to St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart. The Sisters of St Joseph were in charge of St. Columba’s school from 1915 to 1985.
St. Columba’s is a co-educational school enrolling students from 3 year old Kindergarten through to Year 6, serving the Parish communities of St Columba in South Perth and Holy Family in Como.
Staff and Families are committed to providing an engaging learning environment through positive and caring relationships. Staff work collaboratively to implement the Australian Curriculum with a focus on providing a well-rounded education.
There is a strong emphasis on Music, Intervention and Extension Programmes. Student data is an integral part of the teaching process and is used to inform teaching practice. With a focus of inclusivity, students with disabilities are encouraged to participate in all levels of school life.
Students leave St Columba’s at the conclusion of Year 6 and many attend Catholic High Schools that include Mercedes College Perth, Trinity College East Perth, Ursula Frayne College Victoria Park and Aquinas College Salters Point.
The school board works hard to provide suitable and up to date facilities in and around the school. This includes regular maintenance and upgrading of facilities.

Research has shown the importance of play opportunities for children in their early years, more recently there has been an emphasis on 'natural environments'. The School Board has recently made a significant investment on providing a natural playground that includes learning activities and a reflection area that the whole school can access. This wonderful asset provides creative play and learning opportunities for our students.
