Aims to provide caring support within our school community, as shown by Jesus in the Gospel. It will be confidential, appropriate and timely assistance for a family in their time of need. A Christian example will also be displayed to our students when they witness their parents serving and supporting others in our community.
Pastoral Care Group will provide:
Meal support to those in need. This will be achieved by stockpiling 6 meals in the school canteen freezer for emergencies. Fresh meals will also be provided as required. Rice sachets and frozen vegetable packets will also be in the freezer to take along with the frozen meals.
[Meal ideas include: chicken casserole, shepherd’s pie, lasagne, spaghetti Bolognese and chicken curry.]
If required the Group can also organise pickups/drop offs to and from school for the children.
Canteen vouchers can also be arranged to ease the burden of lunches for the children as well as some frozen lunches (honey, ham and cheese etc) and some blocks of cake (chocolate, carrot/banana) and small yoghurts.
The P & F will be asked to help out by providing plastic disposable containers and some basic food items as set by the P&F.
To begin with, meals will be provided by Angela and Jenny until we have an idea of the quantity required, and then a call could be put out in the newsletter seeking help from those happy to provide a meal or two.
The Pastoral Care Group will have three points of contact (people will feel more at ease to ask for help with a few people):
The mobile phones of Angela and Jenny will be placed in the P&F section of the school newsletter and in a Pastoral Care Group welcome letter that will be provided in the school welcome pack.
Class Reps will also seek contact with the above people to enlist help of the Pastoral Care Group in time of need.
